── methodology

How the index is built

Source data

GalapagosPronto's live availability feed — the same data that powers our search pages. Covers 14 active yachts and 487 departures with published prices, in USD, double-cabin occupancy per person.

Metric definition

"Per day" = price_from ÷ itinerary_days. Only departures with a published price_from and a valid duration are counted. Cruise-only — no flights or hotels.

Why medians, not means

A handful of short premium itineraries can pull an arithmetic mean upward significantly. The median is the middle price in the sorted list — half of departures cost less, half cost more — and is robust to these outliers. All headline figures are medians.

Update cadence

The index recalculates on every site rebuild. The availability feed is synced from suppliers regularly, so figures here reflect recently published prices — not a static survey. Last rebuild: 2026-07-25.

Small-sample note

Classes marked with * have fewer than 20 priced departures in the current window. Their medians are directionally useful but less statistically stable than the larger-sample classes.

Caveat: All figures are indicative. Cruise prices move — early-booking promotions, last-minute discounts, group rates, and cabin upgrades all affect what you pay. For a live quote on your specific dates and yacht preference, message us directly.
