Who we are

galapagospronto.com (the "Site") is operated by Ecua Ventures LLC, doing business as Galapagos Pronto ("we", "us", "our"). We are a travel agency that resells Galapagos cruises and land-based tours operated by third-party vessel operators and tour companies.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We act in line with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018. We have not appointed a dedicated Data Protection Officer; privacy requests are handled at the address above.

Consent & legal basis

By using the Site and contacting us, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. We process personal data on one or more of these bases: your consent; our legitimate interest in arranging and managing travel; and the necessity of performing a booking you have asked us to make.

You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us — note that we may be unable to complete a booking already in progress if you do.

Information we collect

Automatically: your IP address, approximate location, device and browser details, the pages and content you view, and the links you click.

Information you give us: when you send a cabin/booking request, leave a review, or message us (including by WhatsApp or email), we may collect your name, contact details (email, phone), travel dates and party details, and — when a booking proceeds — the additional details an operator requires to confirm it, such as date of birth, nationality, and passport/identification information.

How we use your information

Automatically-collected data helps us understand how the Site is used and improve it. The information you provide is used to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, complete and manage your booking with the relevant operator, and — where you have agreed — to send you relevant travel information.

How we share your information

We share your details with our staff on a need-to-know basis and with the cruise vessel operator or tour company required to confirm and deliver the trip you book. When you contact us through WhatsApp, your messages are also processed by WhatsApp/Meta under their own terms.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it only where legally required, in connection with legal proceedings, to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

International transfers

Because we operate from the United States and arrange travel in Ecuador, your data may be transferred to and processed in the USA and Ecuador. Where it is, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with GDPR.

How long we keep it

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including completing your trip and meeting legal or accounting obligations. If we need to keep it longer, we will let you know.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data with appropriate, practical safeguards.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to be informed about, and to access, correct, erase, restrict, port, or object to the processing of, your personal data. To exercise any of these, email hello@galapagospronto.com and we will respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that we have, we delete it. Travellers under 16 are booked through, and with the consent of, a parent or guardian.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (functional), to understand usage (analytical), and potentially to personalise content (targeting). Some may be set by third parties. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We honour browser "Do Not Track" signals where supported.

Marketing opt-out

If we ever send you marketing email, every message includes an "unsubscribe" link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing us.

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date below reflects the current version, and we encourage you to review it periodically. If you have a concern, contact us first at hello@galapagospronto.com. If we cannot resolve it, you may escalate to your local data-protection supervisory authority.
